How often are the true odds refreshed?

Every 15 seconds within a few hours of kickoff, every 30 seconds up to a day out, and every 90–120 seconds further out. The refresh is driven by actual line movement, so a quiet market costs nothing and a moving one is caught quickly. The rows on your dashboard and bet history re-read the values every 20 seconds while the tab is open.

Do alerts cost scans or extra?

No. Odds alerts are part of Pro with no limit on how many bets or events are covered, and they do not use your Quick Scan allowance. True odds and the live edge are free for every account.

Why does a bet show no true odds?

Either it is not linked to an event, the market is not priced by the sharp market (some props and niche markets), the bet is in-play, or the game has already started. Link the bet from the edit window if the event exists; the true odds appear within a minute.

True odds on every pending bet

Every pre-match bet linked to an event shows its true odds: the no-margin price of your selection in the sharpest market, refreshed every 15 seconds in the last hours before kickoff and every 30–120 seconds further out. Under your odds you see the edge, the percentage difference between your price and the true odds. This runs for everyone, free and Pro, with nothing to switch on.

Example: you took a team at 2.10. The true odds were 2.00 when you bet (a +5% edge). If they drift to 1.90 by kickoff the market has moved your way and your closing line value will be positive; if they drift to 2.20 the market is telling you it disagrees.

Beside the edge is the optimal stake for it, so you can see at a glance whether a bet with a growing edge deserves a top-up at the same book.

Odds alerts

Watching the edge yourself is not practical across many bets, so Odds alerts (Pro) do it for you. Turn on alerts for a bet from its row menu, or for every bet you add on the Odds alerts page, and Trackbet sends you a message the moment the bet's edge drops below your threshold.

Threshold — set on the Odds alerts page: 0 (alert as soon as the edge is negative), −2%, −5%, −10% or a custom value. It applies to all your alerts at once

What to do with an alert

A negative-edge alert is not a verdict, it is a decision aid. The message includes the expected current value of the bet — what it is worth now at the true odds, as a percentage of your stake. Three sensible responses:

Hold. A small negative edge on a bet you still believe in is not worth acting on; markets move both ways before kickoff
Cash out if the bookmaker offers more than the expected current value. Below that number the cash-out is the worse deal
Hedge the other side at a book that offers it at a better price than the true odds, locking in whatever edge is left

At kickoff

Monitoring stops when the game actually starts, not just at the scheduled time: delayed matches keep their true odds and alerts running until the market really closes. The last true odds before the close become the closing line, and the bet's edge badge turns into its CLV badge. Bets on delayed events show a small "Delayed" label so you know why they have not moved to awaiting settlement.

Using the movement to get better

Over time the true odds tell you three things about your betting:

Are you early or late? If the edge on your bets usually grows between placement and kickoff, you are ahead of the market. If it usually shrinks, you are following it
Which markets move your way? The CLV breakdown by time until kickoff, market and sport shows where your information advantage is real
How much does timing cost? Compare the edge at placement with the CLV at closing on the same bets; the difference is what waiting (or not waiting) cost you
